It’s right in the middle of mushroom season and this is one of the most luxurious and tasty ways to celebrate the fabulous fungus!  It’s not an everyday kind of meal, but is something that you could serve up for a special occasion and delight and impress the lucky chosen ones.  Very, very simple to make, the obvious tip is to get only the very best fillet steak.  It is quite rich so the wine will definitely have to be pretty robust in order to keep up. This is delicious served with a robust South African red.  I tried this with a Merlot from Durbanville Hills which is a very good match.
